Google Business Profile Verification Failed? Here’s How to Fix It!

Learn how to get verified, stay verified, and boost your ranking on Google local results with a rockstar Google Business Profile.

Welcome to The Growth Report

It’s Ben Wright here, founder of Risely.

Ranking high on Google Maps is essential for attracting local customers. If potential customers can’t find you, they can’t hire you! Nearly 44% of retail customer journeys start with an internet search via Google or another search engine.

If your business isn’t appearing in search results, it could be due to missing verification, inaccurate details, or profile issues. But many local businesses find Google's support or documentation incredibly frustrating.

Google is more than just a search engine—it’s a gateway for customers to find and connect with you. Optimizing your Google Business Profile, keeping your information accurate, and using local SEO strategies can significantly boost your visibility and drive more leads to your business.

Common Reasons Your Business Isn’t Showing Up:

Your Google Business Profile (GBP) Isn’t Verified
Google requires businesses to verify their GBP before appearing in search results. If you haven’t completed this step, your business won’t be visible.

Your Business Information Is Inaccurate
Ensure your business name, address, phone number, and categories are correct and consistent across all platforms. Inconsistencies can affect your ranking.

Recent Updates Haven’t Reflected Yet
If you recently changed your business location, phone number, or other key details, it may take time for Google to update its records.

Your Listing Has Been Suspended
Google may suspend profiles due to policy violations. If your listing isn’t appearing, check your GBP dashboard for any suspension notices.

How to Verify Your Google Business Profile with Video

One of the most common ways to verify your GBP is through video verification. This helps Google confirm that your business is legitimate and operates from the listed location. Here’s what you need to include in your video:

Show Your Surroundings – Capture nearby street signs, neighboring businesses, or landmarks to prove your location matches the address on your profile.

Display Permanent Signage – Your business name should be clearly visible on a signboard, storefront, or other fixed fixture. It must match the name you provided in your profile.

Prove You’re Authorized – Demonstrate access to the business by unlocking the entrance, operating a cash register, or entering employee-only areas.

Once your video is recorded, submit it through your GBP account for Google’s review. Completing this step ensures your business gets verified and starts showing up in search results!
